Seize The Moment, Or Maybe Find A New One

It’s simple to formulate one future. One path. One outcome you want to see come to fruition. And we start running in that direction. Because this is what will help accomplish our goals and achieve success.

And what happens when that opportunity doesn’t open up for us? When someone or something has selected against us. When a literal pandemic could ruin our plans?

Are we doomed? Do we abandon our goals?

Maybe. In fact, sometimes yes. But we have to be willing to. Because the goals don’t define us. And the opportunities don’t limit us.

Not receiving an opportunity is an opportunity within itself. It has to be. You’re now open to do something new. More time to find a new commitment. Even reevaluate your goals entirely.

It’s easy to feel lost in the process when you don’t recognize it. But the process itself never stops. It’s simply a matter of adapting and using it, or letting it use you.

It feels like everything halts when we don’t get that thing we want. But that’s because we make it stop. If we can instead use it as a pedestal to go in a different direct. Run off the track. Start another race with a new finish line, we’ll never stop moving.

Opportunities are available to us. Seize those that come by. But understand that those that don’t or those that slip away, oftentimes lead to the better opportunities that we never would’ve imaged. If we’re open to finding it.
